Mangoes are processed into purée for re-manufacturing into products such as nectar, juice, squash, jam, jelly and dehydrated products. The purée can be preserved by chemical means, or frozen, or canned and stored in barrels.
Nigeria is ranked the world’s 10th largest producer of mango, about 850,000 metric tonnes of the fruit are produced yearly, contributing about three per cent to the world total production.
